The Duggars

Here is a link to the gawker which gives the timeline of events regarding the Duggars.

http://defamer.gawker.com/the-web-has-known-about-josh-duggar-for-years-when-did-1706258269

TLC has issued a statement saying they are pulling the shows. They have not said they are cancelling the show.

Would any of you watch a revamped Duggar show? One without Josh?

Do any of you think that the Duggars are a cult? Did the lifestyle and teachings contribute to what Josh did to his sisters? Do you believe, in a way, that Josh is a victim of his upbringing, too?

What is with these people and their obsession with the kids going to camp? The majority of kids do not go to camp and have perfectly wonderful summers without it.

I bet the kids are totally in the dark about just how much filming they'll have to do this summer.
Sorry, kids, no camp for you, but I'm guessing you'll be visiting, I mean, filming with lucky kids who got to go to camp this summer!
That's close enough.

I wish someone would clue AuntieAnn what healthy eating is all about. Another clueless bleeple.

About Kate's summer grill plate -- I hope there's a hearty salad or two on the side that we're not seeing and maybe a big ole pot of homemade baked beans to dig into on the table. Some crusty buns would be nice. And does she, the author of a cookbook, not know that about 1/3 of that asparagus is stringy and inedible and should have been cut off and saved for the soup pot?

They're growing kids for cripe sake. No wonder they're whiney and grouchy and fighting all the time. They're hungry. Put something substantial in their stomachs.

Yeah, they are always insistent that the G kids should go away to camp. Apparently, it's in the rule book of raising kids.

I'm curious. Did anyone here go to camp? We never did. It was not a 'thing' where I grew up, but it was where my husband grew up. The whole school or class or something went to seventh grade camp I think. But beyond that, he didn't go to 'camp' either. Camping, yes. Camp, no. I hate to seem dumb, but what is this 'camp' everyone speaks of? Soccer camp? Girl Scout camp? Wilderness camp? I know kids go to Vacation Bible School here, but that is not camp either.

I went to camp a couple times when I was a kid and my son did a few times but not my daughter. My own experience was it was just okay...

I went to sleepaway camp. The first time, was for four weeks when I was nine. I was too young and so homesick. Then, when I was 12, I went again... this time for eight weeks. Went all the way through high school, but by then I was a counselor. I loved it.
We sent my son to camp for four weeks starting when he was 11. He went for three years and hated it. It's not for everyone.

The bleeple rant on and on about how much money Kate does or doesn't have. No matter how much money she has, camp for eight children is extremely expensive. Everything for eight children is expensive! Because the G's have the pool, each other to play with, and acres of land to play on, I can understand why being home for the summer works for them.

I never went to camp and I don't know anyone who has. I guess it isn't done where I'm from. It looked fun on The Parent Trap though!

I'm sorry but I'm not sure sleep away camps are even a good idea anymore.I would think long and hard about sending my kids off to sleep in the care of strangers.Let's face it the world is not what it used to be,I have heard way to many stories of people who use postions of working with children as a way to victimize them.I also don't think that camps are like they were 20 or 30 years ago which I think is what most of the bleeple are bleeping about. My grandkids do some day camps but how does anyone know that the G kids don't do some of those kinds of things either. They don't live with them.

Quiltart said...

Mimi, You make some good points. I should have included the fact that I was at camp 50-60 years ago.

I never went to camp and have only known of one family who sent their kids to camp one year. I was little and I remember wondering why that family was sending their kids away for the summer. I know about day camps now, which I think are good for kids whose parents are away during the day, but as mentioned above, the Gosselins have fun things to do at home. These people mentioning camp are also the people who criticize Kate's dinner plate and every other little thing Kate does. They always have something to criticize, they always do everything better than Kate, but apparently still have all the time in the world to watch for anything Kate says or does.

Sadie May said...

If Kate sent them to camp they'd say the camp could be filled with child molesters and it would be Kate's fault. And of course they'd say that Kate was trying to get rid of the kids again. If Jon's sent them to camp, they'd buy him a gold crown and call him the perfect Dad.

I'm surprised they're not sending him Happy Father's day Tweets. He's probably hungover and is sleeping all day from DJ'ing.

Farkle said...

So is Kate and the kids filming? Haven't seen any news about it at all.

Camps today are way different, there are baseball camps, football, golf. I think I have read where there is still some boy and girls scout camps. It's usually for a week, not all summer. If kids are involved in swim team, baseball and softball programs at home, they usually play until the 4th of July and then the tourney road starts. One does not need to entertain kids with mindless activities that some of this camps have, as there are many water parks and rock climbing gigs built close to go to. Guess the bleeple don't get it, that some kids prefer to be involved with their friends over the summer.

Happy Father's Day to all Dad's that step up, and to the Mom's that might have to do the job alone. I miss my Daddy, but he knows we are thinking of him today.

I've seen the theory that TLC has bought up all photos of Kate and Steve written several places this week. It is the most ludicrous thing they've come up with yet. If someone had a photo of Kate and Steve in a compromising situation, it would have been published for big bucks long ago. We've seen no photos, because there are no photos.

On the clip for the show on Kate's birthday, Kate and Deanna are shown going out to a club and checking out some guy. Bl and her minions are aghast at the thought of a 40yo woman going out to a club. However, it's always fine and dandy for the Jon the many times he has been spotted out partying. Lol, also thought it was funny because they seemed to have forgotten that Jon's work has him at the bars.

At 40? Very depressing, for me anyway.

&&&&

I remember in college and seeing the 40 year old at the bar and all of us thinking omg look at the old 40 year old.

She's that 40 year old in the bar. Or club. Or whatever. It's over, time to move on. You can't be 22 forever. Stop embarrassing yourself. All the kids are looking at you embarrassed for you. Also does she really think the bar is a great place to meet the man of your dreams?

Last year, Jon was stopped by a TMZ pap out in LA. Jon was all up for partying with the pap and talked about having scraps (women) for the pap. Once again, BL was just fine with that. She made the comment below and then another long speechifying one explaining, "I think I don't hold parents in general to such impossible high standards of morality and decorum. I simply ask that you be kind to your kids, not abuse them, and give them a childhood that is positive and happy. Maybe because I have seen some of the worst abuse you can imagine, my standards for the general population are not so strident."

The page opens but the video won't play for me but sounds like just friendly joking around to me. For goodness sakes the pearl clutching. Even my girlfriends joke about wingmen. Or in our case wing women!

Here's the link to Jon's talk with pap last November.

Meant to add what a bunch of little ageist snobs Bl and her college friends were. I guess Bl's age limit only applies to women, since she has no problem with Jon's nights at the bars. So, she is sexist in addition to be ageist.

Thanks Merryway, again.

I wonder why Becks makes a fool of herself over Jon. Why does she have such admiration for Jon? I wonder if Becks projects her own mommy/daddy issues onto Jon and Kate. Becks views them both through a lens that only exists in her head.

They are now busy critiquing a photo a fan posted wearing the same dress as Kate. Add "modeling" to the BL's areas of expertise.

I am distracted by the way the fan's left foot is turned so awkwardly inward

If you crank your leg around that way it's slimming, didn't you know?

Hehe just kidding, it's flipping awkward. The sheeple are nothing if not cluelessly entertaining.

SOR is a blogger from the old days.

Hi SOR. How are you?

They edited out the guy in the bar lifting her leg up and kissing her toes and her and Jamie in bed together drunk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad Millicent was able to provide this scintillating update on her alternate to watching Kate evening plans as well as details on how she will keep warm. I was worried about that.

I am happy to say that I have something much more fun to do tonight, and it's not even my birthday. Going to a Giants game with my son, and I think Madison Baumgardner is pitching! It's a night game, so I'm bringing along my leather jacket and a fleece blanket to keep warm once that sun goes down :) Fooey on Kate turning 40.

Dear god. First, the self-congratulatory note about what a great mom she is, followed by bragging about how she deleted Kate Plus 8 from her daughter's DVR. It's not YOUR home, you freak. Let your adult daughter record whatever the hell she wants. I have to wonder just how happy the daughter is to have dear old mom there for SIX WEEKS. Somehow I'm guessing she has some mixed feelings about it.

Ok...confession....so I'm at my daughters house for 6 weeks because my beautiful grandson arrived 2 1/2 weeks ago...I'm reading this blog, snuggling with the baby while my daughter relaxes in the tub...great mom right??? Yeah, just scrolled thru her TV guide and saw the recording button set to record TFW tonight so I just deleted the recording. Lol. I refuse to give her ratings....why do I feel evil and giddy at the same time???

Farkle said...

Hi Sor!! Hope you come and hang again.

If my Mom deleted my TV programs while visiting my house, she would be escorted out. So she is going to help raise another generation of non thinkers in life? Way to go Grandma. Her daughter should be so proud that her Mom had to go on a hate blog and report this.

So what is Jon up to? Seems the so called lawyer was left in his dust, he never really liked her, he just used her. Gotta love it.
